Until now, Gateway's Tablets have had all of the multimedia trimmings and massive glossy displays, but they've hardly been portable. That's old news now as the company venture into the almost ultra-light category with the 12.1-inch, sub-five-pound E155C. Thin & light, in the E155C's case, doesn't mean underpowered. This is a credible notebook, flaunting an Ultra-Low voltage, 1.06GHz Core 2 Duo CPU, 4 GB of RAM and comes with both a DVD-R/W drive and a versatile screen that can be operated by the touch of a finger or a digital pen.At 4.8 lbs, the E155C isn't an ultralight, but it's small and light enough for road warriors and college students. 12" notebooks sometimes have cramped keyboards, but the E155C's keyboard feels pleasant overall, with large shift keys and four arrow keys. The machine is attractive, doesn't show fingerprints and has a back-grip area which makes it easy to carry the notebook while using it.The E155C has a sleek look and a solid feel, thanks to the magnesium casing and brushed aluminum finish surrounding the keyboard.
